Disassembly steps
Note: Keep all parts clean and free of impurities.
Impurities will cause rapid wear and shorten the lifespan of parts.
Caution
When inspecting, maintaining, testing, adjusting, and servicing the engine, always exercise caution and ensure that any spilled fluids are collected in a container.
Before opening any chambers or disassembling any parts containing fluids, prepare to collect the fluids in a suitable container.
Dispose of all fluids in accordance with local regulations and instructions.

1. Place a suitable container under the engine oil filter (6) to collect any spilled oil.
2. Using tool (A), remove the engine oil filter (6). For correct procedures, refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil and Filter - Replacement".
3. Remove bolt (4).
4. Remove the engine oil filter base (3).
5. Remove the gasket (5).
6. If necessary, remove the valve (1) from the engine oil filter base (3). Remove the O-ring (2) from the valve (1).
