A.1, Causes of black smoke failure of diesel engine
(1) The intake and exhaust systems are clogged or leaking, and the turbocharger is faulty.
(2) The speed/timing sensor is faulty, installed incorrectly and needs calibration.
(3) There is dirt or debris in the atmospheric pressure sensor.
(4) The boost pressure sensor is faulty.
(5) The fuel configuration or FRC fuel limit value is inaccurate.
(6) The personalization module is incorrect.
(7) The fuel quality is poor.
(8) The valve clearance is improperly adjusted.

2. Troubleshooting
(1) To inspect the air intake and exhaust systems, please refer to Section 1 and 4 of this section.
(2) To inspect the speed/timing sensor, please refer to Section 6.2.
(3) For maintenance of the boost pressure sensor or atmospheric pressure sensor, please refer to the contents of Section 1 and 2 of this section.
(4) Check whether the correct personalization module is installed.
(5) Check the fuel system, please refer to Section 6.4.
(6) Check and adjust valve clearance.

B. Excessive oil consumption
1. Reasons for excessive oil consumption (1) Oil leakage.
(2) The crankcase ventilation hole is dirty and blocked.
(3) The engine oil level is too high.
(4) The engine oil temperature is too high.
(5) The turbocharger is damaged.
(6) Valve guide wear.
(7) The piston ring is worn or broken.
2. Troubleshooting
(1) Find all oil leaks and repair them.
(2) Inspect the crankcase breather hole.
(3) Remove excess oil, find out the cause of excess oil, and recheck all oil levels.
(4) Check the engine oil temperature is too high fault.
(5) Check whether there is oil in the turbocharger intake manifold. Repair or replace turbocharger if
necessary.

(6) Inspect the valve guide.
(7) Check the internal components of the diesel engine and replace worn parts.
